A Nightly Booty Call from Dr. Jart+ Water Fuse Water-Max Sleeping Mask

We all know I’m a crying little bitch when it comes to winter dryness and its dire effects on my skin. I nearly erupted in tears when I found out my humidifier broke (yes, having a humidifier in your bedroom makes a HUGE difference for your skin in the winter months). Every night I tend to over-slather my skin in rich, balmy products to ensure I wake up hydrated which incidentally results in me waking up to a grease stain on my pillow (I know, I know. I shouldn’t be sleeping on my side. Whatever) and going through my products at a lightening speed.  I’m not saying the Dr. Jart+ Water Fuse Water-Max Sleeping Mask ($48) has stopped me from putting on my favorite nighttime products like Decleor ‘Aroma Night’ Neroli Essential Night Balmbut now instead of scooping out and applying enough product to use for a week I actually use the recommended amount (who would have thought I was capable?).

What Is This Mysterious Mask and What Does it Do?

I’ll let Sephora explain…

What it is:

An overnight, quick-absorbing gel that strengthens the skin barrier function and delivers continuous moisture.

What it is formulated to do:
Sleep is when the body repairs itself. Make use of this precious healing period with this weightless, leave-on mask that creates a protective barrier on your skin, locking in vital moisture and nutrients while you “beauty sleep.” Hyaluronic acid macromolecule feeds continuous moisture deep into the dermal layer, replenishing skin’s nighttime water supply, while olive leaf and cranberry strengthen the skin barrier to boost elasticity. A fragrant blend of nine essential oils promote a deep, comforting sleep, leaving your skin ultimately revitalized and you refreshed.

Suggested Usage:
-After using serum and moisturizer, smooth two to three pumps of product evenly on face and neck 10 minutes before sleeping.
-Do not rinse off—product will absorb.
-Cleanse in morning with warm water.

Okay, so once I started using the mask I read a bunch of user reviews on Sephora and Amazon and found that users with oily skin tended to just use the mask alone  and love the results. For someone like me whose skin is always going through some sort of an identity crisis (dehydrated, yet blackheads and imperfections lurk at the surface), this mask is perfect as directed – applied after my nightly skincare regimen.  I wake up to softened, hydrated skin (and no greasy pillow) every morning, which is a hell of a lot better results than a morning after a booty call (that I can remember. It’s been several years but I certainly do not recall ever waking up after a booty call to gorgeous skin).

I purchased dr. Jart water max overnight mask
several months ago and I fell in love with it!
I have drier skin and put this over my serum and
moisurizer and wake up glowing! It is not heavily
Perfumed either. The smell is very sutle and
    soothing.
