Fighting to Hold on to that Last Bit of Summer Glow

You’re starting to notice the evenings are getting cooler and your husband or boyfriend is mysteriously absent all the time because he’s furiously trying to strategize his fantasy football team before next Sunday.   These looming signs of Fall mean that natural sunny glow you achieved (by wearing at least SPF 30 I would like to think) is going to start to fade over the next couple weeks. Don’t expect your usual summer bronzer will suffice unless you’re aiming for a war paint look.

It’s time to tone down the brown and go for a more natural glow. My favorite Fall bronzer is Orlane Soleil Cuivre 02 Compact Bronzer ($40) — with its finely milled texture leaving a subtly sheer healthy glow,  this bronzer works on almost every skin tone.   I also love that despite having “compact” in its name it has a 5″ diameter meaning you can easily swirl the largest fluffiest brush around in it and apply to both face and body.  I love using my luxurious Dior ‘Backstage Foundation – Light Coverage’ Powder Brush ($55) with this bronzer to give my face, decollate, and shoulders that last bit of summer I need to get me through the forthcoming football Sundays.
