Amanda started out by applying Unite Session Whip ($25), a light fluffy mousse to give the hair some volume and hold. She then finger-combed through my hair Unite Lazer Straight ($26.95) which she completely swears by for blowouts, “It lessens the drying time, protects the hair, and locks in the straight.” She then blew my hair straight with a big round brush and then got right into the braiding. She played around with a couple of different looks in the front but we agreed upon the standard french braid, and the right amount of volume and hair to pull back. Then Amanda’s long nimble fingers went to work quickly creating fishtail braids and regular braids, loosening and distorting them to give them texture.
