Welcome to the Jungle: China Glaze Nail Polish Fall 2012 On Safari Collection

Yes, we’re talking Fall already.  Get over it and think about how nice some of these gorgeous polishes are going to look with the Fall foliage (and that cashmere sweater you bought on extreme sale a few months ago)!   I was lucky enough to receive the entire China Glaze Fall 2012 On Safari Collection available this month at salons, beauty supply stores, and online: China Glaze Safari 12 bottle Set. I can tell you right now I started strategizing outfits as soon as I tried on all the “earthy tones, rich plums and celestial sparkles” of this polish collection.

Now please keep in mind I’m terrible at doing my own nails and incidentally photographing nails (I had issues with my camera) so don’t go hating on me because of my photos. I tried!

1. I’m Not Lion: Yes my picture sucks, but this color is actually a champagne-hued glitter polish mixed with fine multi-colored glitter.  It’s strong enough on its own, but this Lion really roars when layered over other colors.

2. Kalahari Kiss: Light sand brown, almost butterscotch meets mustard.  Looks great topped with a coat of I’m Not Lion.

3. I Herd That: A Fall color glitter bonanza!! I am definitely going to rock this opaque glitter on my toes during Fall months.

4. Desert Sun: China Glaze describes this as a “delicious caramel,” whereas I think it’s more of a muted pumpkin.  It’s toned down enough for a manicure and looks AMAZEBALLS orange with a topcoat  of I Herd That.

5. Man HuntAnyone who knows me, knows I’m a whore for a bold cobalt blue, especially on my nails! This is definitely one of my favorite polishes in the collection, will rock for any season.

6Exotic Encounters: A rich green-leaning light teal.

7. Elephant Walk: I know the photo makes the polish look almost green, but Elephant Walk is actually a cool graphite grey. I’m thinking of doing a manicure using Elephant Walk for every finger but my ring fingers, which I will paint with Exotic Encounters.

8. Jungle Queen: Again, my camera fails to show the shimmer (shocking), but Jungle Queen is actually a smoky eggplant with violet shimmer undertones.

9. Adventure Red-y: Talk about a picture not doing justice, this vivid red has a cranberry hue with almost a subtle brick undertone.

10. Purr-fect Plum: Definitely my favorite of this group.  It’s a bold plum mixed in with a little cabernet grape, perfect for hands and/or toes.

11. Prey Tell:  Such a naughty dark vamp! Loving the dark blood shade for when I’m in a vampy mood (which is usually most of the Fall and Winter).

12. Call of the Wild: A rich chocolate brown-dark cherry blend, perfect for my toes when I’m vamping out with Prey Tell on my fingers!

I’m a huge fan of China Glaze polishes in general because of their chip-free staying power and that they are free of DBP, toluene, and added formaldehyde.  Though it will be bittersweet storing my brights and neons away until next Spring, the China Glaze On Safari Collection already made me wild in anticipation for Fall!
